every morning i say a prayer of thanks to God to thank Him that i am alive for yet another day, and today, i really, really meant it. i thought i was going to die of exhaustion, after i woke with a pain at the back of my head, as if a bullet had been there a second ago. really grateful for the Lord's strength sustaining me each day, during times of almost non-stop brainwork like this.
i was walking home on sunday after taking photos of my neighbourhood for my project, under the comforting dim sunlight of the evening. holding an umbrella which shielded me from the slight drizzle, i walked, feeling a sense of peace within. there was a tune playing at the back of my mind, a song i couldn't make out. i started humming it out, and realised it was 'God will make a way', a song i had sung to myself many times over when i was younger, whenever i was afraid and feeling uncertain. it had accompanied me through exams, piano recitals and times of trials, but had faded away as the years went by. i don't know how it came back, but i couldn't help feeling how apt it was.
God will make a way
when there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way
He will make a way
thank you, Lord, for putting that song back in my heart. it was indeed encouraging. thank you di, col, and especially sam. you are angels, and i thank God for each of you in my life. things at home's still the same, nothing's changed. but i'm beginning to see things differently; starting to appreciate what concern i get from my family members, and taking things a day at a time. come what may, i know i will not be afraid, i will not lose hope, for i know that my God will make a way, when there seems to be no way.
turn these tears of sorrow into rivers of joy
